Elizabeth Yarwood is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer, director, and writer. She directs for Wisecrack, a popular YouTube channel with over 3 million subscribers, that produces videos about TV shows and movies through the lens of philosophy. The videos Elizabeth has directed have amassed over 9 million views combined. Elizabeth has developed her own original digital content as well. She is the creator of comedic web series LA Picker, about feuding thrifters and resellers, which stars Devin Sidell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, Rob Zombie’s 31). After receiving her MFA in Film and TV Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Elizabeth started her career as a cinematographer, working in both narrative and documentary. Her work has been seen at numerous film festivals such as SxSW, Cinequest, Dances with Films, Full Frame, Screamfest, and the Sedona International Film Festival. She is a DP on the award-winning feature documentary Pioneers in Skirts by director Ashley Maria, which explores gender inequality in the workplace. She also DPed the comedic short film Witchy by writer/director Liz Manashil, which is in a successful festival run. Elizabeth has worked as a camera operator or camera assistant on a wide variety of TV shows on network and cable television such as Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. She is a member of the International Collective of Female Cinematographers (ICFC) and Women in Film. Elizabeth is an Associate Professor of Filmmaking at Woodbury University in Burbank, CA.
